This is a Wednesday evening Brazilian Portuguese course for adults who are serious about communicating effectively and naturally in Portuguese but learning in a fun way. Rather than following a syllabus in which topics are introduced and simply ticked off, the course is organised around communication. Language is introduced, practised and revisited through meaningful situations and conversations, developing the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, listening and interactional skills needed for real-life communication. You will progressively develop your ability to understand spoken Portuguese, express yourself with greater accuracy and fluency, maintain conversations, deal with unfamiliar language and communicate in situations you cannot predict in advance. Lessons may be conducted in Portuguese and in English, with appropriate support according to students’ pace and needs. Activities provide substantial opportunities to use the language rather than simply study it. Previously introduced language is continually revisited and extended as your communicative ability develops. This is an ongoing course, not a fixed number of weeks programme. You may enrol for a package of 5 or 10 sessions and continue by purchasing another package. The course will continue provided the minimum group size is maintained. Our goal is lasting, real-life Portuguese, with enjoyable sessions you finish with a smile. What you need No previous Portuguese required. You’ll need a good internet connection, webcam, microphone and a quiet place to participate comfortably. Enrolment is now open. The course begins on 13 January 2027. This is a Brazilian Portuguese program. We do not provide European Portuguese classes.
